First Aid Box

Companies are required by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 to provide adequate facilities and equipment for personnel on their premises.

The minimum first aid provision on any work site is a suitably stocked first aid box and an appointed person to be responsible for arrangements for first aid.

Health and Safety Regulations 1981

The number of first aiders required onsite will depend on the risk assessment and the number of employees.  This number will vary according to the classification of the risk and the number of employees on site.

First aid training must be conducted by a training organisation approved by the Health and Safety Executive.  In addition, it is recommended that first aiders attend a refresher course prior to the expiry of their existing certificate.
